Newcastle is spoiling us this year with more Christmas pop-ups than ever before. Here’s our guide to where to go, consider it an early Christmas present…
Back by popular demand, Hadrian’s Tipi has returned to STACK for another season of festive drinks and music. Cosy up by the fire pit with a fur blanket and glass of mulled wine, perfect for keeping out Jack Frosts’ chill. And for all you aspiring Mariah Carey’s, get ready to belt out your favourite Christmas tune as every Monday is Open Mic Night, 7pm-10pm!
The latest addition to Newcastle’s Christmas scene are wonderfully unique and festive. Picture yourself and friends having a three-course meal within your own private igloo on the Quayside complete with Christmas tunes, fairy lights and heating. The festive food includes Winter Minestrone Soup with Grissini Stick, Butter Roasted Turkey with Herb Stuffing, Dauphinoise Potatoes, Pigs in Blankets and veggies, ending with Salted Caramel Profiteroles with Toffee Cream Sauce. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available too.
Après Ski Bar and Christmas Markets
Newcastle’s Christmas Markets are back and bigger than ever, and this year, there’s even a ski-resort inspired bar. Whether your go-to beverage is a Baileys Hot Chocolate or a glass of fizz, cuddle up surrounded by pine Christmas trees and listen to live music, with Christmas songs of course! When it comes to picking up last minute gifts the market has over 70 stalls of food, drinks and gifts from around the world, so you’re bound to find something special.
The Botanist’s Roof Terrace
The Botanist has transformed its terrace into a winter wonderland that overlooks Grey’s Monument and all of the Christmas markets. Not to mention the more creative fancies such as a Unicorn Hot Chocolate and a Harry Potter-inspired Butter Beer – well worth an Instagram post!
For those quiet Christmas evenings when you prefer a cosy jumper to some glitz and glam, what’s better than a night at the movies? Keeping it festive, Tyneside Cinema has got you covered showcasing all your Christmas faves from ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ to the brand-new ‘Last Christmas’ featuring Emilia Clarke.
